"With all these things in mind, dear brothers, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the truth that we taught you in our letters and during the time we were with you."
Community Chapel of Christ Ministries Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Community Chapel Of Christ Ministries based on the foundational truths as taught in the Holy Bible.
The Bible
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God (II Tim. 3:15-17).
God
We believe God to be the invisible, self-existing one. He has made himself known to human kind by three manifestations: the father, the son: Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Jesus; however, was both divine and human. As a divine being he made himself human and lived on earth (John 1:1-14). Jesus is the humanity God.
Virgin Birth
We believe Jesus to born into this world, as the only begotten son of God by a miraculous virgin birth (Matt. 1:23).
Mankind and The Fall
Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans: Adam and Eve; the caretakers of God's creation were created without sin (Genesis 2:4-8,15-17). However, because of their disobedience in the Garden, they became sinners (Genesis 3:6). We, who are their descendants became sinners also.
Redemption
We believe that while we were yet sinners that Jesus came to earth. He shed His blood on the Cross and died to pay the penalty for our sins that we may have life, and have to more abundantly (Colossians: 1:15, John: 10:10).
The Resurrection
We believe that after Jesus died on the cross on a Friday, that on the 3rd day, early Sunday morning he rose from the grave just as he had promised. He then ascended back to Heaven and sat back on his divine thrown (I Corinthians. 15:3-4, Mark 16:19).
The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal return of our Lord and savior with power and great glory. We believe prior to his return to earth he will appear in the sky, to rapture up the church (John 14:3, I Thessalonian 4:16-17). However, when returns to grounds of the earth he will judge both the living and the dead and usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.
The Conversion Experience by Baptism in Water
We believe that water baptism is a sign one has given up sin and has converted to become a follower of Christ. This baptism should executed in Jesus’ Name (Acts 2:38).
The Conversion Experience by Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a supernatural experience where God's Spirit enters the spirit of the newly converted which is a direct result of that person's repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ (Tutus 3:4-7; Luke 24:46-47). This indwelling of the Holy Spirit provides Christians with the ability to live a godly lifestyle and operate in supernatural gifting.
The Church
Once someone has been converted by water and Spirit baptism they have now become apart the community of Christians called the Church. The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ here on earth, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that is ministry of sharing the Gospel of Christ is a responsibility of both the church organization and each Christian (Romans 10:9-15; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:18-20; I Peter 3:15).
The Lost
Those who refuse to except the gospel message and Christ as their Lord and savior are called the lost. We believe that the lost or non-Christian will experience eternal damnation (Rev. 21:8).
